The Role

Aeris has built a strong reputation rooted in our deep IoT expertise and practical know-how. We’ve spent the last decade plus helping some of the world’s largest companies navigate complex, critical technology decisions as they transform “unconnected products” (such as cars) into digital services that engage end-users, inform critical business decisions, and generate subscription revenue (such as car sharing services).

At this stage in our growth, we are seeking a dynamic, experienced partner marketing manager to help us engage, activate and scale new partner sales channels. In this role, you’ll work closely with our business development team to author compelling pitch decks that explain to potential partners—such as cloud service providers, module manufacturers, systems integrators and startup incubators—why 1+1>2. You’ll engage partners to create, then execute against joint go-to-market strategies. As part of that, you’ll author effective “better together” messaging and positioning and create a wide range of sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, recorded demos, blogs, videos, product slicks and more. You will also meet and interact with both end customers and channel partners face-to-face, provide timely buyer insights, and help to strategically inform the product roadmap.

The successful candidate must have a passion for storytelling and content-creation to fuel the acquisition, engagement and retention of customers, and have great project management and collaborative skills. You’ll measure your performance against the success of partner marketing strategies, as well as your ability to work effectively with others—from business development, product management, engineering, sales engineering, and marketing within and outside of Aeris—to achieve measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Research: Develop an encyclopedic knowledge of end customers and the operational nature of their businesses to build a deep, fact-based, and data-driven understanding of how both Aeris’ technology and each partner’s offerings uniquely positions those end customers to win. Translate that knowledge into clear insights and digestible materials to inform partner selection, partner engagement, product development, outbound marketing, and sales enablement. This job will require you to get on the phone and out of the building to talk to prospective and current customers face-to-face.
  • Joint Go-to-Market Strategy Development: Help to identify, investigate, and validate potential GTM partnerships and work with both business development and marketing to develop and execute partner marketing strategies.
  • Sales & Marketing Enablement: Produce crisp, clear, scalable and compelling materials for business development and partner sales teams – to support full funnel marketing and sales activity. These will include buyer personas, customer stories, website updates, videos, pitch decks, partner training materials, and more.
  • Presentations: Be a product spokesperson, both internally and externally. Explain Aeris vision, demo our offerings at events, and showcase the best of Aeris to our stakeholders and customers.
  • The ideal candidate will be an:

  • Experienced B2B partner marketer with 5-8 years of directly relevant experience and a strong understanding of enterprise technology sales cycles. Experience with wireless networks and/or cloud infrastructure is a big plus.
  • Resourceful, startup-savvy operator who is excited to bring products to market. The successful candidate most know how to start from scratch and iterate continuously in a complex environment without a set playbook. Startup experience is a must.
  • World-class writer and storyteller capable of diving deep into products details and customer needs -- and crafting killer messaging at both 5,000 meters and the feature level.
  • Visual thinker with an eye for compelling graphics that accelerate and anchor customer understanding, and generally for world-class visual design.
  • Strong cross-functional project manager capable ofengaging a wide variety of functions externally and internally – product, marketing, sales, business development, and customer success – to achieve alignment and drive results. Track record managing partner marketing programs with deep knowledge of operational details, project management process, and a willingness to get hands dirty.
