Ares is seeking an Associate Vice President of Product Management to work within the Corporate Finance Systems Team in IT. Our Corporate Finance Systems Team works closely with other IT departments, business stakeholders, end-users, consultants, and Audit/Compliance through all project phases of ERP/Financial Applications implementation and beyond including maintenance post deployment.
This role requires a reliable, detail-oriented and adaptive professional who can function in various phases of a dynamic project and can multi-task and transition quickly. This person will be leading a team of technical subject matter experts across a suite of Financial Applications. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the business process supported by the Financial Applications with an emphasis on the technical components of the systems. In addition, configurations involving technicalities beyond functional setup’s would be handled by the role, including but not limited to reporting and data analytics. Strong communication skills, ability to work independently with multiple personnel/departments will be crucial. Success will be measured by details/qualities of work product, ability to meet deadlines/milestones and user satisfaction.
Reports to: Principal, Product Management
Supervises: Technical Business Analysts. Indirectly supervises Ares' India team members and consultants in support of project management needs.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assist end users in application/system issues with an emphasis on technical components. Design and build data modeling, data warehouse and reports for the end users and champion the administration of an enterprise wide reporting/business intelligence/analytics framework. Perform maintenance of technical workflows, rules, system configurations and exceptions handling with detail and accuracy under proper control along with documentations. Author business rules and scripts within systems to aid with automations/efficiencies. Work with functional business analysts in providing holistic support to end users. Perform project management of various initiatives (upgrades, enhancements, integrations etc.) and maintain and update desktop procedures and project documentation with an emphasis on technical components. Design, test and trouble shoot interfaces between modules/systems including handling of exceptions. Design and perform training for end users on best practices of application/system usage and leveraging of technology to reduce manual work. Provide support when working with Accounting/Finance personnel, IT personnel, Business Partners and 3rd party consultant/vendors through the various project phases. Provide technical advice and knowledge in business process analysis for improvement and handle audit requests. Assist in monitoring solutions to ensure proper controls are functioning. Supervise and direct a team of technical business analysts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Finance or related fields
Experience Required: 8-10+ years relevant experience administering/implementing one or more ERP/EPM technologies. Preferred hands on coding/authoring experience in data analytics/modelling using tools like Azure Datalake, PowerBI, Hyperion HFM/Essbase, BIP. Preferred technical experience in any of the following applications/tools implementation and maintenance (security, workflow, configuration etc.): OneStream (Strong in Business Rules) Workiva D365 Business Central Trintech Oracle Fusion Coupa Concur Preferred hands on coding/authoring experience in automation scripting tools like Python, JSON, SQL, VBA, Excel Macro. Strong skills in Collaboration Tools: MS Teams, Confluence, JIRA, SERA. Strong skills in MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project. Providing support and training for end users. Change management and project management, familiarity with SDLC and RICE-W components. Networking, discovering and researching of solutions/best practices to system/process limitations. Familiarity with audit process and providing support.
General Requirements: Adaptable, ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, organized, and independent. Exceptional and concise communication skills, with experience providing support to end users. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills of process, steps, and methodology. Familiarity with alternative manager or investment management industry a plus.
