Manager - Product Manager, People Analytics

Team Overview

Less known about Capital One is that it is relentlessly focused on Talent. As a Product Manager, you will split time between the Talent Acquisition & Enterprise Recruiting Analytics Team & the Talent Assessment Team. Our team is leading the charge to adopt the ruthless focus on customer experience and analytics that our credit division has pioneered and apply the same rigorous approach to innovating in the ways we attract, engage, assess, hire and develop talent.

Job Description & Ideal Candidate:

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational and tactical changes in how we think about talent acquisition over the long term. You will inform our strategic direction and should be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment and be patient at the same time are essential to succeeding in this role. While experience working in people analytics, talent acquisition or HR is not required, knowledge of the space would be helpful. This individual’s responsibilities will include:


  • Distill big picture intent into tactical requirements and implementation plans

  • Set objectives and key results (OKRs) for your team, driving the organization to deliver upon these OKRs in a sustainable manner

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition (TA), design, and delivery teams to identify and resolve ambiguities and negotiate tradeoffs

  • Work with Talent Acquisition leaders and key stakeholders across Capital One in delivering a pipeline of well-managed Platform improvements to reduce risk and improve operational efficiency

  • Provide subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings

  • Be the primary contact for new platform initiatives and subsequent Impact analysis

  • Direct root cause analysis to determine platform, product, or process breakdowns and strengthen operational controls; commission root cause remediation projects where needed

  • Drive testing for various initiatives – strategic and tactical

  • Design and produce metrics used to measure efficiency and effectiveness

  • Lead the value chain through changes impacting your platforms and/or teams

  • Create clear and compelling communications and presentations (PowerPoint, etc.), appropriately tailored for each audience

  • May use design thinking and lean UX principles

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 5 years of experience in digital product management

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in Agile product management

  • 2+ years of experience in data product management

  • 1+ years of experience in people analytics, talent acquisition or another talent focused HR dept
