We have an exciting opportunity for an Digital Production Agronomist to join our team to support our soybean seed production operations. Gain exposure to and knowledge about our seed business while utilizing your strong communication and agronomic skills to work with growers, customers, and employees. As the Digital Production Agronomist, you will serve as a primary digital contact for soybean seed production which includes: data collection, crop health imagery management, seed field selection based off data analytics and nutrient management. Never be bored in this unique opportunity which will focus about 70% of your time in the digital space and 30% in grower relations and contract management. We are seeking an educated candidate who has knowledge of current agronomic practices and leadership skills to implement and maintain quality standards. Grow your digital agronomy career with us, apply today! Responsibilities – What You Will Do: How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you! Implement acreage plan in areas assigned by the Field Operations Manager or Production Location Manager. Own all aspects of grower relations in your area, including but not limited to: acreage allocations, contracts, and conflict resolution. People management: train, lead, motivate, and coach growers and contractors to success. Ensure that digital agronomy tools and strategies drive seed field productivity, and results in the creation of a competitive advantage through increased yields, quality, and cost management. Provide coaching, training, and support of agronomists and seed growers on equipment monitors, data collection, digital agronomy platforms, and internal programs. Work in partnership with the production, commercial, and research teams to coordinate cross functionality with seed growers to develop and implement business strategies supporting data management and implementation. Plan, execute, and analyze digital agronomic research across seed fields, and communicate summaries that can be used to support product management, positioning, and training. Continue to develop professionally by remaining current with new technologies, management innovations, and agronomic practices. Coordinate and lead the delivery, execution, and support of digital agronomy platforms and services for the Jackson Production Agronomy team.
Qualifications Requirements: What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table? You have a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Agronomy, Digital Agriculture, or other similarly related Agriculture field). You bring an agriculture-related experience and background to the role that allows you to support growers to deliver high quality, high yield seed to us. 1-2+ years of experience working with farm machinery, Geographic Information Systems (GIS software), GPS systems, variable rate technology, and mapping software. You have a demonstrated track record of getting results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles, and finding creative solutions to problems. You have a strong Knowledge of agronomic practices (pest management, disease ID, product placement) so you are able to easily build credibility with your grower network. You have a valid Driver’s License and good driving record so you will be able to drive your company assigned work truck to manage your grower area. You are an effective communicator, able to build trust, rapport and influence with a variety of stakeholders. You “lean-in” when it comes to utilizing technology to do your job well so you have strong Microsoft Office experience as well as significant experience with computer software and programs.
