Those that do not want to get their hands dirty or build out a function against a blank slate without buying pre-packaged solutions should not apply.Role / Title:The Supply Planner is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of manufacturing and distribution for a specific set of products for assigned Brands. The Supply Planner takes the demand plan and develops the supply plans using capacity modeling and MPS, ensuring the lowest cost of ownership model for the business. Effort results in an action plan for constraints and a Master Production Schedule for the site scheduling team to execute.Primary Responsibilities Oversees inventory and supply planning responsibilities for assigned plants and/or co-packersMaintains capacity plans, production schedules and/or finite schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service and cost objectives.For some locations/plants, responsibilities may also include inventory stock transfer/replenishment responsibilitiesIdentifies ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areasProvides supply planning expertise to the commercialization of new products or resolution of key inventory shortage issuesProduction Planning - Production plans are developed to support the business plan for assigned brands and productsMaster Scheduling - Schedule finished goods production for each assigned product group. Supply recommendations are based upon scheduling parameters and system settings that are developed and maintained to support sales goals, inventory financial targets, as well as minimizing the age of product when shipped to a customer.Track plant/business performance (KPIs) to the established supply chain plan such as service goals, Days Supply, 13 month inventory average, and plant adherenceManage the short-term (quarterly) and long-term (yearly) budgeting process for Brands. Understanding and verifications of variances to management are critical success factorsProduct Supply Coordination - Coordinate activity that impacts Brand's ability to maintain constant and sufficient product supply, ensuring communication with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and other internal customersInventory Management - Manage and control finished goods inventories for assigned items in order to achieve the company's financial targets along with utilizing old age reports to determine action required to initiate salvage sale or disposal of productActs as a liaison and communication point between Factories, Sales & Marketing, Demand Planning, Transportation, Warehousing and Customer Service. Keep all parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the businessInitiate product listing/delisting/withdrawal in conjunction with MarketingMiscellaneous Tasks - Participate in department and company initiatives requiring the expertise of a supply planner. Activities could include but are not limited to consensus seasonal teams, new product introduction teams, supply chain cost optimization opportunities, or business process initiatives Location(s) Chicago/Aon Center
